Stranger Things Season 4 Spilt Into Two Parts, Season 5 To Be The Finale

As the five posters that released two days ago specified Season 4 of the smash-hit Netflix series will mark the beginning of the end with the upcoming season "twice the length" of its predecessors.

Netflix has officially announced a release date for Season 4 of Stranger Things, but in an interesting turn of events has also revealed the season will be broken up into two separate parts. Vol. 1 will premiere on the streaming service May 27th 2022, with Vol. 2 following on July 1st 2022. With this season apparently being twice the length of any of the previous seasons it comes as no surprise Netflix has decided to do this.

Following the events of Season 3, Hopper is still alive but imprisoned far from home in the snowy wasteland of Kamchatka, where he will face dangers both human…and other. Meanwhile, back in the states, a new horror is beginning to surface, something long buried, something that connects everything….

Horror icon Robert Englund also features in the latest season as Victor Creel, a disturbed man who is imprisoned in a psychiatric hospital for a gruesome murder in the 1950s. The Duffer Brothers revealed last year that "Season 4 is shaping up to be the biggest and most frightening season yet, and we cannot wait for everyone to see more."

Ahead of the premiere of Season 4, Netflix has ordered up Season 5 and revealed that it will be the Final Season of the show.

"Seven years ago, we planned out the complete story arc for Stranger Things. At the time, we predicted the story would last four or five seasons. It proved too large to tell in four, but — as you’ll soon see for yourselves — we are now hurtling toward our finale. Season 4 will be the penultimate season; season 5 will be the last." - Stranger Things Creators Matt & Ross Duffer

As unfortunate as it is to say goodbye to such an incredible show, we could possibly see spin-off shows in the future. The Duffer Brothers teased potential upcoming projects recently stating, "There are still many more exciting stories to tell within the world of Stranger Things; new mysteries, new adventures, new unexpected heroes."
