Netflix Announce Wednesday Addams Series From Tim Burton

Tim Burton will be making his television directorial debut with a brand new live-action series revolving around Wednesday Addams.

Netflix made the announcement today as they move forward with a Tim Burton series following Wednesday from The Addams Family. Alfred Gough and Miles Millar (“Smallville”) are writing and showrunning with Burton directing.

The eight episode series, titled 'Wednesday', is described as a "sleuthing, supernaturally infused mystery charting Wednesday Addams’ years as a student at Nevermore Academy." You can check out the synopsis and first poster below.

"The series will follow Wednesday’s attempts to master her emerging psychic ability, thwart a monstrous killing spree that has terrorized the local town, and solve the supernatural mystery that embroiled her parents 25 years ago — all while navigating her new and very tangled relationships."

As of yet, there is no news on casting or a release date. Here's hoping Christina Ricci will be involved in the series somewhere along the line.
