Kim Kardashian & Emma Roberts Join AHS 12

Updated: Apr 13, 2023

Announced yesterday, American Horror Story will be returning for Season 12 later this year with 13 already green lit. The new season will be hitting small screens this summer with newcomer Kim Kardashian joining the AHS Family.

As reported by THR, Series co-creator Ryan Murphy, who is friends with Kardashian, was said to have been impressed with her hosting Saturday Night Live back in 2021. They've been speaking since last summer about "crafting a unique role for her scripted TV debut".

“Kim is among the biggest and brightest television stars in the world and we are thrilled to welcome her to the AHS family. Emma and I are excited about collaborating with this true force in the culture. Halley Feiffer has written a fun, stylish and ultimately terrifying role especially for Kim, and this season is ambitious and unlike anything we have ever done.”

AHS 12 will be executive produced by Murphy, co-creator Brad Falchuk, Feiffer, Alexis Martin Woodall and Scott Robertson with Halley Feiffer writing the script. The show is scheduled to begin shooting in New York City later in April with a summer release date on the cards. The exact premiere date will be revealed in June.

Whilst details of Kardashian's and Robert's roles, as well as the story, are being kept under wraps at the moment we know AHS 12 is titled 'Delicate' and is somewhat based on an upcoming novel titled 'Delicate Flower'.

Unlike previous iterations of AHS, however, there is at least something to go on. For the first time in the anthology’s history, it’s leaning into source material. The season is titled Delicate and is based, at least in part, on Danielle Valentine’s upcoming novel Delicate Condition. Out in August from Sourcebooks Landmark, the novel is described as a gripping thriller about a woman who becomes convinced that a sinister figure is going to great lengths to make sure her pregnancy never happens.
