Jenna Ortega In Talks For Beetlejuice 2

It goes without saying that talks and rumours about Beetleuice 2 happening have been going on for years. They tend to drum up a lot of interest and then vanish into thin air again before resurfacing again with 'new info'. And of course why wouldn't talks of a sequel to Burton's 1988 garner a lot of interest? Fans have basically been crying out for it since the original's release (myself included).

And on that note it does look like it may finally be moving forward!

As reported by The Hollywood Reporter, multiple sources have revealed Jenna Ortega is currently in talks to join the film. The highly anticipated sequel will feature Ortega as Lydia Deetz's daughter, provided she can agree a deal with Warner Bros that is.

Wednesday star Jenna Ortega is looking to stay in the Tim Burton family. The actor is circling a role in Beetlejuice 2. Tim Burton, who helmed the 1988 film starring Michael Keaton, is expected to direct, with Keaton returning as well, according to sources. Production is eying a late May or early June shoot in London, but budget has not been set, resulting in a back and forth. If a deal is made, sources say Ortega would play the daughter of Lydia, the character played by Winona Ryder in the original.

With the original film going on to become a huge hit, grossing $80million on a $15million budget, and a cult classic/fan favourite amongst the horror community it's hard to still see why we haven't had a sequel.

Until anything official is said, actually until I'm sat in the cinema and the opening credits roll I won't be getting my hopes up. More to follow.
