Courteney Cox Will Return For Scream 6

Back in February we reported that Scream 6 had officially been greenlit with the films official Twitter account (@ScreamMovies) confirming a March 31st 2023 release date yesterday. There's not been much said in regards to casting as of yet, but Courteney Cox has now confirmed she will be reprising her role of Gale Weathers for the sixth film in the franchise.

Speaking to Just For Variety with Marc Malkin podcast earlier this week, Cox revealed she'll be coming back for Scream 6.

"I got the script yesterday. And I haven’t read it yet. I just got it, and I’m so used to getting, you know, Shining Vale scripts, which are 26 pages, and I’m, ‘Whoah, I’ve got to read a script.’ I’m excited to read it."

There's no plot details as of yet, but we'll be sure to update you as soon as we can. Me personally, I'm really hoping they bring back Hayden Panettiere as Kirby.

Radio Silence's Matt Bettinelli-Olpin and Tyler Gillett are returning to direct the franchise’s sixth film. James Vanderbilt & Guy Busick are also back to write the script. Scream creator Kevin Williamson and the third member of Radio Silence, Chad Villella, are executive producing alongside Spyglass’ Gary Barber and Peter Oillataguerre.
