Scream 6 Has Been Greenlit

After grossing over $100 million worldwide, Ghostface is set to return for a sixth film. Paramount and Spyglass Media have officially ordered up Scream 6, which is set to begin production this summer.

Matt Bettinelli-Olpin and Tyler Gillett, who directed the latest Scream, are set to return to direct the sequel with James Vanderbilt and Guy Busick also returning to pen the script. Kevin Williamson is also on board as an executive producer with Radio Silence's Chad Villella and Spyglass' Gary Barber and Peter Oillataguerre.

"We are tremendously grateful to the fans around the world who enthusiastically received our film. We can’t wait for audiences to see what Radio Silence, writers Jamie & Guy and Project X have in store for our Woodsboro family." - Spyglass and Paramount in joint statement.
"Working with such a wonderful and talented family of creators — and in the lineage Wes and Kevin so expertly built — has been the thrill of a lifetime, and we’re so excited to bring the next chapter in the Scream saga to life." - Radio Silence.

In regards to plot or returning cast, nothing has been announced as of yet. Fingers crossed we can see Kirby (Hayden Panettiere) make her triumphant return to Woodsboro. More to follow.
