More delays due to the ongoing CoVid-19 pandemic. We previously reported production on Fear TWD and pre-production on Season 11 of TWD had been shut down due to the CoVid-19 virus, so delays were expected on those. But it turns out World Beyond and Season 10 will also be affected as AMC confirms further delays.
AMC's two season spin off show, The Walking Dead: World Beyond, was originally meant to air it's first episode Sunday April 12th. The show has now been shelved for the near future and will air sometime latef this year. They broke the unfortunate news via Twitter with the following statement.
"The Walking Dead: World Beyond is moving its premiere date from Sunday April 12th to later this year."
The Walking Dead: World Beyond expands the universe of The Walking Dead, delving into a new mythology and story that follows the first generation raised in a surviving civilization of the post-apocalyptic world. Two sisters along with two friends leave a place of safety and comfort to brave dangers, known and unknown, living and undead on an important quest. Pursued by those who wish to protect them and those who wish to harm them, a tale of growing up and transformation unfurls across dangerous terrain, challenging everything they know about the world, themselves and each other. Some will become heroes. Some will become villains. But all of them will find the truths they seek.
As of yet, there's been no confirmation of a new air date. In addition to World Beyond being delayed, AMC revealed the finale of Season 10 will not air next month as originally planned.
With only three episodes remaining in this season, the finale was set to air April 12th (13th in the UK). However, due to the current crisis AMC revealed post production on the finale could not be completed. They issued the following statement to fans earlier today.
"Current events have unfortunately made it impossible to complete post-production of The Walking Dead Season 10 finale, so the current season will end with its 15th episode on Sunday, April 5. The planned finale will appear as a special episode later in the year."
As with World Beyond, there is currently no set release date for the season 10 finale. Episodes 14 and 15 will still be aired on their original dates as normal.
