So this year, Stephen Sommers iconic horror-action flick The Mummy celebrates it's 25th Anniversary. Whilst the film re-released recently across cinemas in US & Canada, us lot here in the UK seemingly got forgotten about. Well, thankfully Universal have heard the chants of "Imhotep! Imhotep!" coming from us Brits and will be re-releasing the film in cinemas across the UK & Ireland.
The Mummy 25th Anniversary poster
The Mummy will be hitting cinema screens across UK, Ireland & select international territories from July 5th 2024. Participating cinemas in the UK & Ireland include Vue Cinemas, Cineworld and Odeon Cinemas. The film boasts a 4K restoration, which will look even better on the big screen. No word as of yet if there'll be any great merch to accompany the re-release, but I'm keeping everything crossed.
The 1999 film follows adventurer Rick O'Connell, Egyptologist Evelyn and her clumsy brother, Jonathan. The trio inadvertently resurrect condemned mummy Imhotep, Pharaoh Seti I's high priest, during a dig at the ancient city of Hamunaptra. Check out the re-release trailer below.
