The Devil You Know Coming Soon

Shawn Burkett, the film maker behind 2016 creature feature Don't F*ck In The Woods, is currently gearing up for his next horror.

The supernatural home invasion horror The Devil You Know follows the story of a young couple who unknowingly become tangled in the rituals of a Satanic Cult. You can read the full synopsis below.

"In 1983, Jacob Allen Shepherd, violently took the lives of his entire family in a secluded cabin while performing an occult ritual. After the brutal slaying of his wife and children, he ends his own life, believing the ritual will grant him dark, supernatural powers."

"The horrific incident sends shock-waves through the nation, igniting a morbid fascination that leads to the birth of a dangerous cult known as "The Flock." Now, over forty years later, a couple unknowingly rents the same cabin for a weekend getaway, unaware that their visit coincides with the anniversary of the tragic events. Soon, they discover that the followers of Jacob Allen Shepherd have returned to complete the ritual, setting their sights on them as their next intended sacrifice."

The Devil You Know is directed by Shawn Burkett, who also co-wrote the film with Cheyenne Gordon. This will be Burkett’s eighth feature, and fourth script co-written with Gordon. P.J. Starks (The Barn Part 3 / New Fears Eve / 13 Slays Till X-Mas) & Chris Gierowski (Don’t F*** In the Woods / Sweetest Day / Stranded) are on board as executive producers.

The film will reportedly tie into Burkett's 2015 short film, The Lamb, with him stating, "I’ve secretly been living in this world for the past ten years, and I’m beyond excited to bring this to life." Executive producer P.J. Starks said it's unlike anything he's done before.

"It's not like anything I've been part of previously. I've worked on several sub-genres including slashers, ghosts, and monsters but I've never worked on survival cult horror; so I'm very excited to be working with Shawn on the film, which is also a serious turn for him as a filmmaker."

The film stars Kenzie Phillips (Don’t F*** In The Woods 2), Dale Miller (Halloween (2018) / Stranded / The Wicked One), Jason Crowe (The Bad Man / Mr. Buzzkill / Harvest Lake), Daniel Alan Kiely (The Barn Part 2 / Bong of the Living Dead), Joey Mann (XXX-Mas / Phantom Fun-World / Mr. Buzzkill), Justin Beahm (Animal Inside aka BETSY / No Solicitors) and Emily McAnulty (New Fears Eve / Stranded / Mr. Buzzkill).
