Last year Dustin McNeill and Travis Mullins released a truly remarkable book covering the entire Halloween franchise film by film. For any Halloween fan their book Taking Shape: Developing Halloween From Script to Scream is a must! The book dug into all the behind the scenes stories starting with John Carpenter's 1978 classic all the way through to 2018's Halloween. And McNeill revealed this week that a follow up book is on the way!
The book, titled Taking Shape II: The Lost Halloween Sequels, will cover all those Halloween films that we never got the chance to see. MCcNeill revealed the book via a post on his Facebook page along with the following teaser.
“I don’t usually talk about my projects until they’re finished, but I’ve gotta say this somewhere. My co-writer Travis Mullins is freaking amazing. If you dug TAKING SHAPE, then you’re going to go crazy for TAKING SHAPE II. Come for the lost sequels you’ve heard about (like the H6 that Quentin Tarantino nearly produced – we’ve got a massive chapter on that one), but stay for the MANY lost Halloweens you never knew were in development. Top secret stuff that never went public. Travis has turned up some incredible finds.”
McNeill is hoping to get the book out by late summer this year. We'll bring you more information as soon as we get it.
