Hooked On Horror Weekly Round-Up (23rd - 29th March 20)

Hey folks, been an evenful week again in the world of horror. Hope you're all holding up ok under lockdown and are doing better than Jack Torrance did when he was isolated at the Overlook Hotel. Anyways here's the weekly news round-up for you. Enjoy!

John Carpenter tried to give aspiring young filmmakers inspiration as he urged them to use the lockdown to get creative.

"To all the young and aspiring filmmakers out there, now is the time to write your movie. It doesn't matter what it is, just make it your own."

We got a brand new clip from upcoming werewolf movie Hunter's Moon, starring Thomas Jane. You can see the clip here. Warner Bros. Pictures followed in other studios footsteps and delayed Scoob! and James Wan's Malignant. AMC released the unfortunate news that the Season 10 Finale and spin off series The Walking Dead: World Beyond will both be delayed. Both will air later this year.

Predator: Hunting Grounds got two new trailers as they prepared for the demo to go live 27th - 29th March. You can see them here and here. Horror filmmaker Stuart Gordon sadly passed away at the age of 72. He was the man behind such horror great as From Beyond and Re-Animator, in an interesting not he was also one of the minds behind the story for Honey I Shrunk the Kids. Gordon and Brian Yuzna originally brought the project to Disney.

The poster for the classic Universal Monsters movie, The Invisible Man, sold for $182,400 at auction. Fans said there goodbyes to Danai Gurira as Michonne leaves The Walking Dead. Her final episode, What We Become, drew in the highest viewing figures this season. Michonne will be leaving the other survivors to search for Rick Grimes. The actress will be taking a break from the show as she pursues other creative ventures. She made the following post via her Instagram page thanking her fans, crew and fellow cast members.

"Is it possible to feel your heart is broken and overwhelmed with love all at once? Leaving Michonne was one of the hardest things I have ever done. I am so grateful for the kindness, beauty, and generosity of love that I have received over the last couple of days. I have changed and grown living in this role which has been one of the greatest privileges of my life to play. The astounding #WalkingDead fandom who supported the characters we created and the world we strived to bring to life are the ones who made this incredible journey possible. To receive so much love from you means everything to me.

Thank you to the amazing cast and crew I had the pleasure and honor to work with to tell this story. SO many incredible human beings. I leave knowing with every ounce of my being how hard it is to find that type of community and connection. People who have your back, true collaborators who are pursuing the story above all things and who are pouring it out with love and abundance.

The balm in it all is this amazing family I have gained. Everyone, from Andy Lincoln to every last faithful fan, everyone is #TWDFamily, and I am so thankful for that family. And I know it never stops. We will continue to grow and be together in various ways along the journey. We have touched each other. And so, it never ends. Thank you so much for the videos and tributes; for all the messages of love and support. For sharing what #Michonne meant to you. They have enriched me so much during this difficult time in the world. I cannot express my love and gratitude enough.

Always,

Danai"

Sleepaway Camp star Felissa Rose returns to slashers as the first poster and trailer for her upcoming supernatural slasher, A Nun's Curse, gets released. Predator: Hunting Ground got released for a free trial weekend. Despite it's issues, I thought it was fantastic. You can read my full review here. We got given a brand new poster for upcoming Marvel film Morbius. The film stars Jared Leto as the titular character Michael Morbius. As he attempts to cure himself of a rare blood disease, he inadvertently infects himself with a form of vampirism.

Jason Blum shared news via his Twitter page that the trailer for Halloween Kills is looking great, and is just round the corner.

That rounds up this weeks horror news. We'll continue to bring you the latest and best horror content we can. Stay safe folks...and remember all work and no play makes Jack a dull boy.
