First Look at The Bride!

Iconic Universal Monster, the Bride of Frankenstein, is being brought back to life in Maggie Gyllenhaal’s upcoming film The Bride!

Director Gyllenhaal took to Instagram yesterday to show off the first look at Christian Bale as Frankenstein’s Monster and Jessie Buckley as the titular Bride. The film also stars Peter Sarsgaard, Annette Bening and Penelope Cruz.

The upcoming feature film “sees a lonely Frankenstein travel to 1930s Chicago to seek the aide of Dr. Euphronius in creating a companion for himself. The two reinvigorate a murdered young woman and the Bride is born. She is beyond what either of them intended, igniting a combustible romance, the attention of the police and a wild and radical social movement.”

Production is set to start in the coming months with a scheduled release of October 3rd 2025.
