The Meg 2 Finds Director

As reported by The Hollywood Reporter, Warner Bros has found its director for the Meg 2.

Warner Bros have agreed a deal with filmmaker Ben Wheatley, whose film Rebecca premiered this week, to direct a sequel to the 2018 film.

Most of the cast from the first film are expected to return, including lead actor Jason Statham, who is reported to be creatively involved. Not a lot is known in regards to the plot as of yet but the script is being penned by Jon and Erich Hoeber who are working off an initial draft from Dean Georgaris. All three were credited with writing the 2018 adaptation of the Steve Alten novel. Lorenzo di Bonaventura and Belle Avery are back as producers.

After the first film scared up $530.3 million globally it comes as no surprise a second film os one the way.
