The news we've all been waiting for since 2008 is finally official- The Mummy 4 will release May 2028, with original stars Brendan Fraser & Rachel Wesiz signed on to reprise their roles as Rick & Evelyn O'Connell.

The deal has been closed with both Fraser and Weisz after months of negotiations, with Universal setting a release date of 19th May, 2028. Radio Silence's Matt Bettinelli-Olpin & Tyler Gillett (Ready or Not, Scream 2022) will direct from a script by David Coggeshall (Orphan: First Kill).
Fraser, Denis Stewart and Jason F. Brown will serve as executive producers, with Executive VP of Production Development Jay Polidoro and Director of Production Development Jacqueline Garell overseeing the production for Universal.
Sean Daniel, who produced the original movies with his late partner James Jacks, is back on board with the franchise as producer. William Sherak, James Vanderbilt, and Paul Neinstein will also produce through Project X Entertainment. Project X was involved in Radio Silence movies such as Abigail, Scream 5 and Scream 6. Unfortunately, still no word as of yet whether or not Stephen Sommers will be involved.

Whilst plot details are scare at the moment, the film will reportedly be a sequel that retcons Tomb of the Dragon Emperor as opposed to a reboot. Nothing official has been said about the possibility of other returning cast members such as John Hannah, Oded Fehr, Patricia Velasquez and (of course) Arnold Vosloo. But, fIngers crossed Weisz and Fraser won't be the only returning Mummy Alumni.
