Mindhunter Placed on Hold Indefinitely.

Deadline has revealed, much to everyone's dismay, that Mindhunter may be no more as the show has been placed hold indefinitely. Netflix have yet to renew the true crime series whilst David Fincher is busy with other projects. To make fans further question the shows future, it has been revealed that the cast- including Holt McCallany, Jonathan Groff and Anna Trov- have been released from their current contracts.

A Netflix spokesperson unveiled the bad news with Deadline with the following statement. “David is focused on directing his first Netflix film, Mank, and on producing the second season of Love, Death and Robots. He may revisit Mindhunter again in the future, but in the meantime felt it wasn’t fair to the actors to hold them from seeking other work while he was exploring new work of his own.”

Whilst nothing is set in stone, this news is quite disheartening and is leaving the future of the show looking pretty bleak. Fingers crossed we just have to wait a bit longer for Season 3.
