Landlord | Coming Soon

I get sent a lot of indie horror stuff to cover, and ever so often a film comes across the Hooked On Horror desk that I am genuinely excited to cover. Judging from what I've seen so far, I think this is going to be a diamond in rough.
The upcoming indie horror from Black Mandala looks put an interesting new twist on the lore of vampires. As the lore goes, a vampire can only enter your house if invited... but what if he already owns the property your staying in?

BLACK MANDALA is proud to present LANDLORD, a vampire horror thriller from director Remington Smith that brings a sinister twist to an age-old rule: a vampire needs an invitation to enter your home—unless he owns it.
Blending neo-Western grit, American independent cinema and supernatural horror, LANDLORD had its world premiere at Grimmfest and was selected for the Frontières Buyers Showcase at the Marché du Film in Cannes.
In Landlord-
In In the sweltering summer heat of Louisville, Kentucky, a nameless Black bounty hunter arrives at a rundown apartment complex to recover a stolen briefcase. What appears to be a routine job takes a terrifying turn when he discovers that the building’s white landlord is a vampire, free to enter the homes of his tenants without permission.
After the creature murders the mother of a young tenant named Alex, the reluctant hunter becomes the boy’s only protector. Together, they must fight their way through a town where the power to own a home also means the power to invade it.
