The team behind the incredible The Thing Expanded, Aliens Expanded and the In Search of Darkness (80s and 90s horror) documentaries have announced their latest documentary. As well as a deep dive into 70s horror, CreatorVC will be heading to Amity to tackle Spielberg's 1975 blockbuster. And they're asking horror fans and Jaws finatics alike for help.

One of Hollywood’s great folktales, Jaws has been well served by traditional ‘making-of’ documentaries and a dedicated fandom over the past 50 years.
CREATORVC welcomes you to a brand new way of looking at Spielberg’s classic. Jaws Explored is not a nostalgia trip or a making of. This documentary asks different questions: not what happened on set, but how and why this film has worked so well? Why does it remain such powerful filmmaking? What is its true genius? This is a case for Jaws being ‘the most important movie ever made’ — much more than a documentary about Jaws, this is a film about what makes a classic.
The new EXPLORED format will provide fresh perspectives from acclaimed filmmakers, critics, and experts, presenting new interpretations and deepening our relationship with the film. People who can show why a particular cut works so well. Why the score is doing something you never noticed. Why a shot you have seen a hundred times is actually doing much more beneath the surface of the movie. Focusing on appreciation over recollection, we will explore Jaws scene by scene, frame by frame, shot by shot, diving into its influences, decades of appreciation, obsession, and the film’s cultural impact. The result will be an immersive celebration of a masterpiece that transcends cinema itself.
Of course, Jaws was never just a film. It has become an experience passed between generations — one that reshaped filmmaking and embedded itself into popular culture. Fans have felt the film in the pit of their stomach ever since being scared at such a young age — fear growing into a deep rooted obsession and desire to seek out as much as possible in understanding the ‘movie’. Through the lens of experts, we will learn what Spielberg’s film has taught us about cinema. The following approach will not only trace the origins and influences on Jaws and its cultural impact, but also place it in the wider context of ’70s America.

CreatorVC Unveil Newest Documentary Jaws Explored
Jaws Explored is not a ‘making of’. It is a revolutionary deep dive analysis that will take you through the film via the most knowledgeable filmmakers and experts out there who also love and obsess over Jaws. As a package, inspired by Criterion — built for the people who already own every version of the film from VHS to 4K.
Rather than Spielberg and surviving cast and crew, imagine those in the film industry discussing the editing in detail or the mythic and monstrous origins of Jaws, or a shark expert comparing scenes to shark habits in scientific detail. These important voices will not only deliver fresh perspectives, separating the documentary from what has gone before, but will also be brought to life further through cleverly designed graphical interfaces.
As with the EXPANDED format, Jaws Explored will still take a chronological approach via 17 chapters. However, untethered from the traditions of cast and crew stories, there is far more room to dive into areas that are not seen in a commercial documentary such as Jaws @ 50. The film will never have been discussed in as much detail as in this documentary, allowing us to focus entirely on key moments, not only in how and why a scene works, but what it is saying.

And much like they've done with their previous films, the production team is conducting a survey and asking fans what they want for the upcoming documentary. Keeping the wonderful 'for fans, by fans' feel that they've nailed in every documentary thus far.
HELP US CHOOSE WHAT YOU SEE WITH OUR SURVEY:
