CreatorVC Announce Slasher Trash Documentary

The incredible team behind the In Search of Darkness documentary series, The Thing Expanded, Aliens Expanded & more have just announced their next documentary. And much to our delight here at Hooked On Horror, this one is gonna be focusing on the iconic sub-genre of slashers. And even better- it's now available for pre-order !

Since 2017, the Slasher Trash community has celebrated the grimiest slashers ever made. Now, in partnership with legendary Horror journalist Michael Gingold and the producers of In Search of Darkness, we are proud to present the Slasher Trash documentary!
Join us on a 4+ hour dive into obscure, low-budget slashers, guided by 40+ slasher icons including David Howard Thornton (Art the Clown, Terrifier), Grady Hendrix (Author: The Final Girl Support Group), Caroline Munro (Actor: Maniac, Slaughter High), George Mihalka (Director: My Bloody Valentine), William Lustig (Director: Maniac, Maniac Cop), Brinke Stevens (Actor: The Slumber Party Massacre), and many more!
So what can we expect from this upcoming documentary? As outlined by CreatorVC:
Our journey begins with the proto-slashers that laid the template for what was to come: Hitchcock’s Psycho, Herschel Gordon Lewis’s lurid gorefests, Pete Walker’s British shockers, and the black-gloved killers of Bava and Argento’s gialli.
Arriving in the late ’70s and ’80s, the main body of the documentary explores obscure, low- and no-budget slashers, celebrating the deeper cuts that you thought no-one else remembered, as well as many you may have never seen.
Along the way, we explore the slashers that turned holidays into bloodbaths in our ‘Horrifying Holidays’ segment, venture deep into the woods with ‘Terror in the Woods,’ and explore scholastic murder in ‘Campus Carnage.’
As we travel through each of these sections, our cast of slasher legends share stories and anecdotes from their own work, as well as providing insights into the works that inspire them.
