As The Conjuring's cinematic universe comes to a close with The Last Rites, the small screen series moves ahead.

We reported back in April 2023, that HBO was developing a spin-off TV series.
"According to Warner Bros., “The Conjuring” television series will continue the story established in the feature films. Producer Peter Safran is attached to executive produce the series via his Safran Company banner. James Wan, who also produced and directed several films within the franchise, is in talks to also executive produce. Wan’s Atomic Monster Productions is backing the project alongside Warner Bros. Television."
According to Variety, Nancy Won (Supernatural, Jessica Jones) has joined the upcoming series as writer, executive producer, and showrunner. Additionally the series has found its writers in Peter Cameron (Werewolf by Night) and Cameron Squires (WandaVision). Peter Safran remains as onboard as an executive director with Safran Company Banner, and James Wan's Atomic Monster, producing the series in association with WBTV.

Conjuring TV Series Moving Ahead at HBO Max
The series looks to continue the story established in the films, which follow some of the cases real life demonologists Ed & Lorraine Warren have reportedly dealt with over the years. Played by Patrick Wilson & Vera Farmiga, the franchise began in 2013 with James Wan's The Conjuring and has spawned an additional three sequels as well as five spin-off films (such as Annabelle and The Nun).
The cinematic universe ended with the recently released ninth film, The Conjuring: Last Rites, which has already grossed over $194 million at the box office (worldwide). In total The Conjuring Universe has grossed nearly $2.4 billion worldwide, so it's no surprise Warner Brothers are looking to explore other options with the IP. Hopefully won't be too much longer until we get some more details regarding story and cast.
