Over the last several years we've been lucky to see a resurgence of older horror films returning to cinemas for Spooky Season, giving fans the chance to experience some of their beloved classics on the big screen. Thankfully, we're in no short supply of it here in the UK this October.
So, below you can find a full list of the horror films returning to cinema screens across the UK (and Ireland where applicable) this October. And of course, where you can watch them. This doesn't include smaller independent cinemas, just the main chain cinemas in UK & Ireland.

Scream (1996)
When Sidney receives a mysterious phone call and finds that her friends are being killed, she suspects that a serial killer may be on the prowl, who is also linked to her mother's murder.
The Fly (1986)
A scientist creates a teleportation machine and decides to test it. However, a fly enters the machine and their genes get spliced. Gradually, he finds himself transforming into a grotesque creature.
The Return of the Living Dead (1985)
When two bumbling employees at a medical supply warehouse accidentally release a deadly gas into the air, the vapors cause the dead to rise again as zombies.

The Thing (1982)
A group of scientists researching an alien spaceship found in the Antarctic come face to face with the ship's, not quite dead, occupant.
Constantine (2005) - 20th Anniversary re-release
Detective Angela approaches Constantine, a demon hunter, to help her investigate her twin sister's mysterious death. As he digs deeper, he realizes that demons are trying to enter the human world.
The Descent (2005) - 20th Anniversary re-release
A caving expedition goes horribly wrong, as the explorers become trapped and ultimately pursued by a strange breed of predators.
The Exorcist (1973) - Director's Cut
When a mysterious entity possesses a young girl, her mother seeks the help of two Catholic priests to save her life.

Coco (2017)
Aspiring musician Miguel, confronted with his family's ancestral ban on music, enters the Land of the Dead to find his great-great-grandfather, a legendary singer.
Corpse Bride (2005) - 20th Anniversary re-release
When a shy groom practices his wedding vows in the inadvertent presence of a deceased young woman, she rises from the grave assuming he has married her.
Hocus Pocus (1993)
A teenage boy named Max and his little sister move to Salem, where he struggles to fit in before awakening a trio of diabolical witches that were executed in the 17th century.
Hocus Pocus is also showing at Vue Cinemas.
Casper (1995) - 30th Anniversary re-release
An afterlife therapist and his daughter meet a friendly young ghost when they move into a crumbling mansion in order to rid the premises of wicked spirits.
Casper is also showing at Cineworld, Vue & Showcase Cinemas.

Shaun of the Dead (2004)
The uneventful, aimless lives of a London electronics salesman and his layabout roommate are disrupted by the zombie apocalypse.

American Psycho (2000)
A wealthy New York City investment banking executive, Patrick Bateman, hides his alternate psychopathic ego from his co-workers and friends as he delves deeper into his violent, hedonistic fantasies.
The VVitch (2015)
An isolated Puritan family in 1630s New England comes unraveled by the forces of witchcraft and possession.
The Fog (1980)
Local legend tells of a ship lured on to the rocks of Antonio Bay being enveloped by a supernatural cloud as it sank; the myth says that when this mysterious fog returns, the victims will rise up from the depths seeking vengeance.

A Nightmare on Elm Street 2: Freddy’s Revenge (1985)
A teenage boy is haunted in his dreams by deceased child murderer Freddy Krueger, who is out to possess him in order to continue his reign of terror in the real world.

Christine (1983)
A nerdish boy buys a strange car with an evil mind of its own and his nature starts to change to reflect it.

Hotel Transylvania (2012)
Dracula, who operates a high-end resort away from the human world, goes into overprotective mode when a boy discovers the resort and falls for the count's teenaged daughter.
Hotel Transylvania 2 (2015)
Dracula and his friends try to bring out the monster in his half human, half vampire grandson in order to keep Mavis from leaving the hotel.
Hotel Transylvania 3: Summer Vacation (2018)
Count Dracula and company participate in a cruise for sea-loving monsters, unaware that their boat is being commandeered by the monster-hating Van Helsing family.
Last Night in Soho (2021)
Aspiring fashion designer Eloise is mysteriously able to return to 1960s London, where she encounters dazzling wannabe singer Sandie. But the glamour is not as it seems, and the dreams of the past crack and splinter into something darker.

ParaNorman (2012)
A misunderstood boy takes on ghosts, zombies and grown-ups to save his town from a centuries-old curse.
ParaNorman is also being shown at Cineworld & Showcase Cinemas.
The Bride of Frankenstein (1935)
Mary Shelley reveals the main characters of her novel survived: Baron Henry Frankenstein, goaded by an even madder scientist, builds his monster a mate.
The Curse of Frankenstein (1957)
While awaiting execution for murder, Baron Victor Frankenstein tells the story of a creature he built and brought to life - only for it to behave not as he intended.
